James A. Schoeneck

Mr. Schoeneck has served as director of Depomed since December 2007. Since September 2005, Mr. Schoeneck has served as chief executive officer of BrainCells Inc., a private biopharmaceutical company. Prior to BrainCells Inc., he was chief executive officer of ActivX BioSciences, a proteomics-based biotechnology company. Prior to ActivX he served for three years as president and chief executive officer of Prometheus Laboratories Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company. Prior to Prometheus, Mr. Schoeneck, spent three years at Centocor, Inc., where he served as vice president and general manager, Immunology Business Unit and vice president of Marketing and Commercial Development. Prior to Centocor, he spent 13 years at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Inc. (now Aventis) serving in various marketing positions of increasing responsibility, including group product director and as director of marketing for a newly-created managed markets business. Mr. Schoeneck holds a B.S. degree in Education from Jacksonville State University.
